I have read 4 chapters of Terry Goodkind's upcoming new contemporary novel,
The Law of Nines, and I was disappointed that it ended at the most intruiging part! I was easily engrossed in the story that the end of the excerpt was jarring. I guess that's the point of the preview which is available on Amazon. So far, it certainly has parallels with
Wizard's First Rule but in a modern setting. There is a mysterious woman and an eccentric old man that the main character (a painter) interacts with. Even the protagonist has similar characteristics as Richard Cypher. At the moment, I'm undecided if I'm going to get the hardcover or wait for the paperback version. I was hesitant to preorder because I know this novel isn't part of
The Sword of Truth series. Maybe I'll buy it in December.
