Mariel suggested this week’s question.
Are you a spine breaker? Or a dog-earer? Do you expect to keep your books in pristine condition even after you have read them? Does watching other readers bend the cover all the way round make you flinch or squeal in pain?
I'm both a spine breaker and a dog-earer. In general, I try not to break a book's spine. If I do break one, I'll be upset if I really like the book. The only book I've dog-eared excessively was Atlas Shrugged so I could easily locate certain passages. As for other people deliberately break a book's spine, I'm okay with it as long as it's not mine.
