I was watching a video featuring Utada Hikaru and she mentioned 'ghost pressing'. Something about experiencing it before you're 20 or you won't encounter it in your lifetime. I was curious so I googled it and I was surprised by what I found.
I've actually experienced ghost pressing or sleep paralysis years ago. I had these experiences in my teens but not in the past few years. I wonder why I didn't research it at the time. When it happened I was usually in a prone position (it's more frequent in the supine position). I remember suddenly waking up sensing that someone's in the room but my body just won't respond to my commands to move or my voice to work. I'd wait for what seemed like a long time for my body to move or the threat to go away. I never saw what was so threatening because either my eyes were closed for the whole duration or due to the fact that I was lying on my stomach. There was also one occasion that I woke up with my body frozen and hearing either '40s/'50s music playing in the background as well as indiscernible voices. Nothing threatening at that time but I wondered about the source of the anachronism.
I never mentioned it to my friends or family because nothing harmful ever happened. Sure it scared me during the experience but once fully conscious I pushed it out of my mind and dealt with things that needed to be done for the day. I probably just thought of them as very bad vivid dreams. I even thought it was a residual effect of my surgery, but I never thought of them as paranormal or an alien abduction as some articles say of this condition. I wonder if I'll experience it again in the near future. There are reports of UFO sightings in the area lately. It keeps coming up on the local news.
